The world in 21 st century. The logistics business reaches an era of major change along with the business globalization. How we are going to respond to the diversified customers’ needs? How we solve the logistics issues that customers have in order to contribute to their business? While logistic industry is becoming more complicated and diversified, what role Shinko Express should take and what we are aiming for in the future. This is the message from our company

Seeking out every day how the company should be while the world is changing.

Our company Shinko Express is a long-established logistics company founded in 1947. I was appointed as Representative Director about 20 years ago, at the period of when Japanese Economy collapsed resulting in a great depression in the society as seen Yamaichi Securities went bankrupt etc. Our company was also effected by the economic bubble bursts and my first job was to re-structure the company itself when I took over. Which was included selling our unnecessary assets and canceling the excessive capital investment. Re-storing the company was drastically carried out and accomplished to improve financial soundness and the quality of services at the same time.

Ever since, what I kept questioning myself was only “what type of company Shinko Express is going to be”. Whilst inheriting our company’s history, how to create a company that is suitable to the modern society? My answer has reached to the management philosophy “to create a good company” after all.

Hope to create a good company, but what is a good company?

Then I asked myself what is “a good company”? I believe that it is a company making everyone involved in the company happy. So what can I do to make everyone happy? Assuming that the first step is all employees’ happiness. When employees feel happy to work from both aspects of physically and mentally, it would lead to improve the quality of services and expand to customers, stakeholders etc., which brings happiness to everyone.

Employees are valued in Shinko Express. The company is supported by employees’ effort and their hard work every day. My hope is that everyone continues to work for a long period and feels “happy” to have worked in “a good company” at the day of retirement. I believe that the secured and satisfied feeling directly links to the improvement of customer service.

We inherit the tradition and aim for the future.

All businesses are rapidly globalizing in the 21 st century. Logistics service is required to correspond to various tasks along with the globalization. What Shinko Express is going to do from now on? The answer is simple. Never over exaggerate ourselves, establish a relationship of trust with customers and respond to customers’ needs carefully and individually. I’m sure that there are the hints of the future business within the customers’ feedback. When we care and respond to customers’ needs, it will lead to the future substantial development of the company.

Shinko Express also endeavors to identify and perform for “what services other companies don’t offer”. Which allows us to avoid excessive competitions and to continue being ourselves. It is important to discover its own value and utilize it for the customer service. We provide variety of vehicles including vehicles to transport powdered or granular ingredients such as wheat flour in accordance with customers’ needs. There is also a forwarding system to be carried out total international logistics and integrated door-to- door delivery.

Logistics business does not necessary to be extravagant. Our mission is to deliver customers’ luggage safely and reliably in order to contribute to raise our customer’s business value. That is the reason we are here to support for the tasks behind the business through logistics. Identifying what service is not available in other companies? or what sort of exclusive services Shinko Express can offer every day in order to create “a good company” for the accomplishment to make all employees happy. Although making a good company sounds very simple, but it will connect to the value of everyone involved including customers, which leads to the future of Shinko Express and further, to be a new era of logistics. I am confident of it.

The luggage was transported by horse when Shinko Express was established in 1947. Now we have various methods utilizing ships, JR freights, airplanes, trucks etc. however, our fundamental principals of delivering packages safely and reliably is still the same. Keep it in mind to respond to customers’ expectations, which makes sense to preserve our tradition while establishing our future.
